Recently,China Quality Management Association for Electronics Industry (CQAE)officially released the “Technical Requirements for Passive Electronic Components Used in Road Vehicles” series of group standards. This announcement includes 10 standards covering key components such as inductors, capacitors, resistors, and varistors, which will officially come into effect on December 27, 2024. The release of these standards marks a significant milestone in advancing technical standardization and regulation within China’s road vehicle electronics industry.

The recently released standards span multiple technical domains, with Part 9, “Technical Requirements for Passive Electronic Components Used in Road Vehicles: Varistors” (T/CQAE 21009-2024), drawing significant industry attention.Varistorsplay an irreplaceable role in overvoltage protection and ensuring circuit safety, as a critical component for circuit protection.
